An action-packed weekend in Oxfordshire
A MUST for all Stratos enthusiasts

Please note that the UK STRATOS MOTORSPORT WEEKEND 2001 will now be held on 25/26th August 2001 instead of the original June date. The postponement has been caused by the Foot and Mouth Crisis in the UK, but we are confident that there will be no further delays, and that the event will take place on the new date of August 25/26 2001. On the weekend of 9/10 June 2001, there will be possibly the largest gathering ever of Stratos in the UK at RAF Abingdon in Oxfordshire. If you own a Stratos, or Stratos Replica, or even if you are just a Stratos enthusiast, you MUST attend this event.

The weeekend will co-incide with the ABINGDON Motorsport CARNIVAL Weekend, being organised at the same venue jointly by Sutton and Cheam Motor Club and Farnborough and District Motor Club,who have kindly agreed to allocate a prominent display area to the Stratos Meeting.

On Saturday 9th June, there will be a National B Status SPRINT and a National B Status Autotest. This along with the static displays, and kiddies activities, should provide ample entertainent until the barbeque which will be held on the Saturday evening.

The requirements for competing in the SPRINT on the Saturday are fairly easy to achieve, and the course is not very demanding on the car, so many STRATOS owners may wish to take part in this on the Saturday. There are plenty of you who have competed in sprints and hillclimbs, or trackdays, before - so get you car out there, and have a go.

There will be a special award presented to every Stratos in the SPRINT. There will also be a trophy for the winner and runner-up to keep. Additionally, The Stratos Sprint Trophy will become an annual award presented at the Abingdon Carnival Sprint, and each year will be engraved with the name of the winner, and held for a period of 12 months.

Action on Sunday 10th June, consists of a 65mile National B Status TARMAC RALLY. At least 2 Stratos Replicas will be competing in the ABINGDON CARNIVAL STAGES RALLY on the Sunday, and we are hoping that there may be others.

If we have more than 2 Stratos entries for the rally, there will be an award for the highest placed Stratos on the rally.

The whole weekend will be covered by a professional video crew, and copies of the video will be available after the event.

We are trying to make this the biggest and best UK Stratos Gathering ever, so get your Stratos along there, and help make it happen.
