Replicas have been produced, based mainly on Lancia Beta mechanicals, since about 1986. Many were initally powered by Lancia Twin-cam engines, with a very few boasting Ferrari power-plants, but many replicas are now starting to appear with Alfa Romeo 3 Litre V6 engines.
A good number of kits have been completed around the world, and many owners of such kits are members of the Stratos Replica Club . You can view details of a number of the completed replicas on our Replica Cars page.
There are 2 UK manufacturers of quality Stratos Replicas - Hawk Cars and Napiersport. The HF2000 and HF3000 are produced by Hawk Cars (formerly Transformer) and the Corse is produced by Napiersport (formerly CAE Carson Automotive Engineering and previously to that Litton/Allora).
Both produce kits which faithfully reproduce the style and mid-engined layout of the original car, and are manufactured to very high standards. Both use fibreglass bodies on a steel spaceframe chassis, and utilise the Lancia/Fiat range for certain donor parts, although both are very comprehensive kits, including the majority of parts needed to complete the build.
These 2 manufacturers have now been joined by a further manufacturer, Hennessy Racing, who is producing a version of the Group 5 Silhouette prototype, especially for racing.
