Hi,
I'm trying to figure out the thread size and type for the X1/9 clutch master cylinder.
I initially expected it to be metric as the Alfa and be M12, but that's too big. I've now tried a 7/16" UNF fitting and whilst that screws in fine it's a helluva loose fit.
Can anyone throw any light on what it is??
Cheers

From memory it is M12 but a finer pitch than the standard Alfa fitting, probabpy M12 x 1.0p or M12 x 1.25p???
One thing is for sure - it will be metric.
Andrew.

Hi Andy
I couldn't get anything to fit mine either, it was an odd size, but can't remember off the top of my head what it was. I've got a feeling it wasn't metric though as I'd expected it to be. I had to have it re tapped in the end so I could get an Aeroquip hose on it.
Try taking it to a local hydraulic hose / fittings business, (these are sometimes mobile too) I found one who was very helpful and suggested the retap to get to a common fitting and supplied all the bits to join everything up.
cheers

I can measure mine tonight and post tomorrow. I got my connector from Think Automotive. My home computer has disappeared up its own dark place, so I'll have to post from work tomorrow.

It's 12mm X 1.25 I have a double male connector that screws int it and into the female connector on the flexi hose.

Thanks very much for the info. Much appreciated.
Another trip to buy a union... Anyone needs a 7/16" UNF male suitable for 1/4" pipe??
Andrew
