Can anyone recommend a foam air filter (Alfa V6 12v) and fitting kit? I read in one of the SRC newsletters that the plastic trumpet from a Peugeot 205 Gti can be used without modification.

Thanks,

Andrew.

You can use the peugeot stub adaptor I bought one but when its length was added to the AFM etc it did not leave much room for a filter.

I therefore landed up buying a foam filter from ITG with a universal (uncut) back plate and cut this to fit dierectly to fit the AFM.

(I'm no longer using this filter If you or any one else is interested)

Pipercross do a foam cone filter, good to about 300 HP, and also do a neat matching intake stub trumpet for the Motronic AFM.

About 60 quid the lot, as I recall, very neat job, but I've had a look and I can't find the part numbers anywhere.
Having just moved house, they could be anywhere, if I find them, I'll post them

All the best
Arthur.

This eBay store item seems pretty cheap, with an adaptor plus filter...

That is, if anyone is still looking for an air filter setup on an Alfa engine

I emailed this guy a couple of weeks ago but by the time he got back to me the item had ended! Shipping was quoted to the UK at $24.55 making the total $34.05, roughly £18. You pays your money and takes your chances! No idea how long it will take to arrive - anywhere from a week to six weeks for air/surface is my experience!

Is it worth a group of us getting together to buy a few of these and then split the shipping cost? I bought Rogers foam filter last year but a spare would be handy (don't know why?).......

I did send an email too, asking if the adaptor was available on its own - since that would be much cheaper to post overseas. But it may be the same part as available from K&N or Pipercross.

However, that is certainly a good price, even with postage added to it.
I think it would still be good even without the currently high exchange rate in our favour.

Green Bosch Adapter GREBR05 £33.17

I also used Universal air filter 80mm ...

This adapter is listed by the suppliers, at £18 (plus P&P + VAT) - up in Scotland, it would seem.

www.greenfilters.com - follow link to search by product, then 'top hat adapters' and part number BR05

http://www.greenfilters.com/index/GREsearchbyvehicle_partno.asp?PartNo=BR05&LineNo=11641000

This item is for the 24v airflow meter, which is quite a bit larger than that on the 12v engine. Looks like they also have a part for the 12v intake, if you check the dimensions.

As Chris points out, you can then fit a filter of your choice with an 80mm diameter inlet.
