because Scott has been looking for ages and want to build an accurate Stradale copy! The price is already $880 and the reserve hasn't been reached yet! But there are lots of people bidding! If you type in Lancia Stratos Campagnolo you will find our wheels as well!
Good luck Scott!

Scott thanked me for the heads up but he said he couldn't afford them at the moment. So it's anyones game.
I asked the seller and he said the reserve was $1900
Also, did you all see Roberto's eBay counter auction to the clubs repro Gp4 wheels?

Yes Jeff- but since we don't know if Robertos wheels will be available in 98mm PCD then we have to keep persuing our own path.
I have posted on the thread asking about this and also asked if the price includes VAT (important to us Europeans!) and until we can get answers we are carrying on.
We have not yet ordered the tooling and, up to that point, everyone in the consortium is free to do as they please.
The good thing about competition is that it will keep prices reasonable. I suspect that one of Gerrys motives in going into production, should it happen, will be to have the wheels available at a reasonable price to further enhance the kit. I suspect that if the project fails then the price of Robertos wheels will naturally gravitate back to the prices posted on the wheels threads. I could be wrong though. We await developments from Roberto and Gerry!

I'll bet the reserve isn't as high as the original $1900 now that the Dollar is suffering, which might make them cheaper for someone on this side of the Pond.
If you are thinking about bidding please be aware that if you bid the reserve price or higher then, irrespective of the number of bids or the highest bid so far, the price will jump to the reserve price way before the auction ends. So, strategy should be to work out the price you are willing to pay and bid that at the last moment! I won't be bidding on these - mine are coming from Gerry!
