Is this the Bernie Rooney that used to rally a corse with a honda V6 many years ago?

Welcome Bernie
Good to see another Scot getting in on the act. I used to navigate for one Gordon MacIntyre of chevette fame so have competed against you in the past ( always lost if I remember )
Good luck in selling the beast and finding a Corse.

Stephen

I remember Gorden well he had Chevette and Magnun what is he doing now?

I was at Knockhill last Sunday at the trackday I also have a Group A Escort Cosworth fully prepared, Just purchased it a few weeks back and after driving it I really want back behind the wheel of a Stratos.

I fancy either fitting two Hyabusa engines with TTS Superchargers or 500BHP Cosworth with Quaiffe sequential.

I find the only problem with the Stratos replicas is the power that you need for the sport nowadays even trackdays, not many engines are suitable, even a good 308 hard pushed at 300bhp.

After driving my Zcars WR100 with the twin engines anything else seems slow but I really do fancy 2 in the back of a Stratos.

Hope to see all soon.

PS

How do the boys fancy going to a trackday early next year? I have spoken to Hugh & David Carson ( we did a few trackdays this year) and they are up for a day out, I think Donnington is doing 1/2 price in January.
If anybody is interested call me on 07050 261257

Nice pic
Gordon is alive and well, was in seeing him tonight on my way north from visiting my father in Argyll. He still has that magnum, used to be orange he sold it on to a guy down south who did the body work up a bit then Gordon bought it back for a lot less than he sold it! He has got 3 Chevettes at present. A shed he uses for rallying, a genuine HSR road car that he used for sprints and hill climbs and a ex works HSR rally car that is waiting on an engine rebuild. I am still trying to get my Insurance company to settle so that i can get on with repairing my Allora Stratos. Poor mans car but fun all the same. Iam afraid I will be going down the Alfa V6 route. Tried and tested and relativley straight forward to do ( so I am told ) But first I need to get the body work repaired. Have you found details of the Stratos Challange? If so are you interested in taking part? I wont manage Donnington in Jan as one trip south that month is all I will have time for. Hopfully some of the others will be up for it.

Jesus Bernard....... I thought Gail was talking of killing you if you bought any more cars this year (does the Ford thing bring it to 5 so far?).

Donnington sounds good, if I still have an engine in the Corse - see 250BHP 12V V6 for sale. Give me or Hughie a ring.
Before you ask - no you can't buy my Corse once the engine is out......and no I'm not going to put two nitrous'd bike engines in it.

Eagerly awaiting your drunken call on new years eve as per tradition.

See ya

Dave
Gail thinks I have made money on my cars this year but I reckon I have blown about £15k she still doesn't realise what a liar I have turned out to be.
You must get a run in my Zcars WR100 before it goes you will realise why I want two bike engines in the Corse.

Lets try and meet at Donnington, depending on weather I will bring the WR100 or Group A Cossy. ( depending on Gail not seeing this reply I might be on my bike!)

Will call you as usual on HOGMANAY (Scottish Word For Getting Pissed):p :p

All the best to Viki and the kids

Cheers
