Hello to all,

A gearbox question:

Would you fit a straight-cut non synchronised box in a non-competition car?
Would it render it undriveable and prevent gear changes unless you rev it pas 7000rpm?

It would rather depend on your gearchanging abilities as to whether it was undriveable or not. If your an ace with the double declutching then you will be allright at lower engine speeds (as you implied, the higher the engine speed the easier the change).
However it will always be more work (or more of a challenge if you like) for no obvious benefit.
