Oh dear, perhaps I should have put it up for more then!!
Never mind, the price will stay the same, I'm hopeful of putting up some photos within the week.

How old is the Kit? & do you have the wind screen?

The kit is about 8 or 9 yrs old, it was put together back then, using the right bits, and then dry stored in a friends' garage, waiting to be finished, but they never got round to it. When he needed the room about 9 months ago, I bought it from him, fully intending to finish it off, have a little play for a while, because I've always loved the cars, and then sell it on.
The reason for selling it on is as follows. My passion is tarmac rallying and, dare I admit it on this site, I currently rally a Mk2 Escort!! Anyway, the Escort is now also up for sale (anyone interested?), and my intention was to do up the Stratos, and then sell it and buy a more modern rally car (oh, the shame of it all) with the proceeds from both cars. However, due to work commitments, I'm not sure that I have the time to finish the Stratos right now, so I thought I might try to sell it on as it is. However, if that doesn't happen, it won't be a disaster, as I shall go back to the original plan, and do it up myself.
Just remembered that it also needs a handbrake, and that's about it. By the way, my navigator, Gavin, is also my mechanic so, as I understand very little about cars compared to him, any technical queries would be better directed at him on the tel number already provided.

PS Sorry, I don't have the windscreen yet, but we've made enquiries and they cost about £450, I believe.

But don't forget that the "basic kit" has moved on since then. Alternative suspension pick up points, improved roll cage, footwell protection, and door bars (I think), plus the upgraded suspension components. Current thinking is that the Alfa V6 is the best option for the engine so there is going to be some expense if the new owner wants to upgrade plus that inevitably means extra expense on the brakes!
Having said all that, £6500 should see the car moved on reasonably quickly on the assumption that the build has been done to a reasonable standard.
Good luck!

Oh you mean the car.... it's also fine, thanks.
Unfortunately I now have two toys I don't use often enough, but I'm working on that one.....
Thanks for your excellent article in the newsletter. The car looks great. I can wait to see it in the flesh....
All the best, Nico/

Just to let you all know that, after just a few days, the car has a proud new owner, so thanks to the Forum for helping me sell it.
I'm looking fwd to seeing it as a finished article one day soon at one of the shows.
Thanks again to everyone who took an interest.

Andy,
Sorry mate, but I didn't ask him if I could disclose his identity to anyone else. However, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I told you that he already has a Stratos (that should narrow it down eh?!), and I'm also sure that he might let u know himself in good time, if he wishes.
I'd be surprised if he wasn't a member.
Sorry I can't divulge anymore, but people can sometimes get funny about such things without their permission.

"Let me make this quite clear, I did not have Stratos relations with this man!"
