Hi all,

Just thought I'd share the fact that I have just returned from my first major run in the Strat.

Two weeks ago with 950km on the clock we left Brisbane and 4300km later we have returned. We went to the national Lancia meeting as part of the trip and caught up with 3 other replica owners although only Paul Moreton had his car there. Also in attendence was Ian Fraser. He has written a number of articles on the Stratos and owns an original red stradale. He is an Aussie who lives in the UK.

The car ran really well given that my longest trip had been 2 hours and 180km prior to leaving home and the first day of the trip I was in the car for approximately 11 hours!.

I didn't discover any major problems although there are lots of little things to be adjusted and some paintwork to touch up. Some of the roads we went on were not designed for road going Stratos and while bitumen were very rough and uneven so we bounced around a lot.

The first couple of days I was pretty tense in the car which didn't help the handling but as I relaxed it felt better. Still lots of room for improvment there though.

Plenty of looks from the general public, especially kids I found who really seemed to like the car.

Anyway, she is run in properly now and has proved that all the time and effort by everyone concerned was as good as hoped.

I will do an article for the club in the near future and post some new photos...promise!:D

cheers

I think I'll hold you to that then!

Sounds like a great trip, with a lot of mileage to get used to the car. I can remember the feeling of being 'tense' when first driving mine. Relaxing a bit takes a while, but does make the car easy to get along with. Just don't relax too much!

Did you get any contact details for Ian Fraser? I have a request to make of him if there is an address or email to send it to.

If you have details, you could pass them to me off the forum, or I could send my request to you so that you could forward it.

Cheers,
