Hello to all,
I don't want to show off or anything but I think you should check the brand new pictures of the Group 4 manifolds.
They're at:
http://www.rallycars.com/Cars/Lancia/Stratos3.html
I find them so beautiful...
There's also an intersting story behind them which I think not a lot of people know:
Lancia were trying to find more torque at low RPM with their engine. It was almost by accident they noticed that by linking one outlet tube to the other they could achieve this goal. Further research allowed them to precisely place each minor tube to an exact place on the manifold. The minor tubes have different shapes and the holes that allow exhaust gasses to pass from one to the other are of different diameters and shapes depending on which tubes they are linking.
A work of art and a well kept secret as only Maglioli knows precisely were to place them and how...
Cheers,
Tryphon
