Can anyone tell me what model Fiat the handbrake warning lamp is from. I know that it is said to be Fiat 126 but I have been unable to find a part number or even a picture of one on a 126.
A website I contacted who supply virtually everything for the 126 were unable to help and even said that as far as they knew there was no lamp matching this description fitted to any 126!
Help!

An unusual source for the handbrake warning light is from the older 70s and early 80s volvo estates ! ( at least that's where mine came from)

Mine also came from a Volvo, but I cannot remember which!
As far as I know, it's the seat belt warning light on those cars, and you then have to polish off the black lettering on it so that you are left with a simple red rectangular warning lamp.

Definately Fiat 126! I would guess about VWX Reg - that's the first ones and that's where mine have come form. The same lamp can be found on Fiat 124 Spiders but they always have some wording on them such as HandBrake or Seat Belt or EGR Gas but this can be removed using a piece of sandpaper and then polishing the surface back with T Cut.

Where does the handbrake warning light go?

It's the large rectangular red light between the main guages and the minor guages.
However on mine its wired to the oil pressure warning light and a higher pressure sender is fitted (as the tiny red light on the oil pressure guage would not attract the attention of a fly unless it looked hard)

Chris,
It goes in the small rectangular hole that's pre-cut into a Hawk instrument panel. It's in the middle of the panel, just between the Tachometer and the array of smaller gages.
Hmmm, looking at photos of your car that the previous owner sent me, you had some kind of red light fitted there, but the resolution isn't high enough for me to tell what shape it is.

It's round, Scott, and I think it 'll become an oil warning light like Rogers. I need to replace it with something brighter than a bat's dark-room lamp.

I can highly reccomend the "Volvo" option, even I can see it!
However it's about the only thing I would like to reccomend about Volvos.
The two previous posts might give an inkling as to the deffinition of large/small depending on which side of the pond you live.

in my gallery there is a pic with the square warning light.
I agree with Roger about the oil pressure light, as soon as I'm SVA'd I think this will be my oil pressure light too.

Roger, I seem to recall you previously recommended something else from Volvos - wasn't it valve shims?
Are you sure you aren't a 'closet volvo fan'?
Something you need to share with us all?
A bit of therapy needed, perhaps?
:p
