Intake pipe hose clips on Alfa V6

Does anybody have any tips or tools to reattach the OEM hose clips on the intake runners? (plenum to inlet manifold pipes) I've been struggling with pliers and screwdrivers, and only achieved nipped fingers and bruised knuckles! Does it need two people, or is there some demon tweek to crack it?
