World Cup rally

I see a Mark Chapman and Ekaterina Turceninoff have entred in the Classic Section of the World Cup Rally from London to Athens in a 1973 Lancia Stratos. will be interseting to see how they fair out. 4300 Km in 12 days thru 12 countries !

This should be Mark Chapman, editor of the Stratos Replica Club newsletter. I knew he was aiming to compete in this event with his car (and yes, it is a replica, with the organiser's permission).

Certainly be interesting to see how he gets on as it sounds like a real challenge. Hopefully he can give us some comments on the lead up to the event.

Mark has said that he will try to send us some updates as he goes along, so that I can keep everyone informed of his progress via the website and forum.

Competing in the world Cup was the main reason why he didn't compete at Abingdon - he's been trying to prepare the car for the rigours of the World Cup Event, and that interfered with his preparations for Abingdon.

Hopefully he'll keep us informed of his progress in the lead up to the event, and maybe we can orgainse a group of us to go and support him at various points on the British section of the route.

Oh, one other thing. Mark and Kat are getting married just before the rally starts, so this will be their honeymoon!!! What a start to a marriage!
