Got my Gripper LSD today - very nice. That's postponed the assault on the clutch, because I'll need to take the gearbox to somebody that can put it in for me. I'm not sure about the shimming and the setup / rebuild.

Speak to Tom Seal before you get someone to shim it. I think Tom will have already set it up - at least, when I got mine, he said it didn't need any further setup, so I just shoved it it and it's been fine.

Yes, you're right, the LSD doesn't need any setup. My reading of the Alfa manual was that a bit of shimming was needed when slotting the unit back into the case. Is it really a fairly simple job? What seals, etc., if any did you replace at the same time?
