This has been posted on the old Yahoo website. I've just cut & pasted. I know nothing of its veracity or origin, it just arrived in an email to me!

Hennesey does have their prices up now - sort of. Go to
http://www.superstratos.co.uk/main.html and click on price. Oddly
enough they are pricing the chassis and body separately. The
chassis is 4776.70 and the body is 2990.30 (pounds). Here is a
little more info that they sent to me.

I contacted Hennessy racing for some prices and received a rapid email, again pushing the 'I' version.

Pasted from an email, I hope Lionel Gooche approves:
"The most obvious changes need to be carried out on the "S" strut type model regarding the obsolete donor components.
There is a fully detailed parts/price that we are currently reviewing as part of our programme of cutting overheads to give our customers a better deal. There is a 12 to 16 week delay at the present time between order and completion for the basic "I" kit.
The Ford 5 stud hubs will fit the hub carrier/uprights supplied in the "I" kit.
The specialist component parts are all manufactured around Cheshire/Yorkshire and our project co-ordinator lives in Cheshire where the collecting point is situated. Bournemouth is where the administration office is placed, once again to keep overhead costs down."

What are the difficult to source parts on the rear suspension? Struts, drive shafts and similar parts are still listed here in typical french motor factors?

Has anyone looked at or are using alfa 164 or other alfa 5stud hubs, brakes?

That would make the 164 or similar v6 alfa an excellent donor although I guess SVA would be better tackled with a pre cat car.

Hawk now offer kits and parts that use the brakes from the 164, but not the hubs. Integrale 5-stud hubs are an option for the rear, with alloy hubs of 4 or 5-stud pattern available at the front.

Corse I does not use Struts at the rear - it uses shockers and spring, and twin wishbones. Everything is fabricated. Only donor parts needed for the rear of a Corse I are discs, hubs, and calipers - plus the Ford bearings.

On a Corse I, the only parts that are originated from the Alfa 164 are really the engine and gearbox.

Shaun,
If you can still get the necessary donor parts readily in France, then an "S" type should be no problem for you- its just that they are starting to become rarer over here.
I know you have spoken to Lionel recently, and I know his views are probably based on the UK parts situation- thats why he favours producing the "I", but hey if you have the parts sussed then producing an "S" chassis for you should not be too much of a problem.
When I bought my chassis it was because all the donor parts had already been sourced, and much legwork was therefore saved.Just need some bodywork now!
