Does any one have a spare momo/sparco type boss adaptor to fit a fiat 124 coupe column, ( I believe it is the same as a X/19 but am not 100% cetain).

If not, can any one confirm wether the 124 and X1/9 use the same adaptor.

Thanks

Roger

Roger,

I'm pretty sure they're the same. I've heard of X1/9 owners using a stock Fiat 124 steering wheel hub to mount MOMO wheels.

I have one for my car, but I haven't actually tried mounting it yet to confirm. I got the 124 hub from Jeff Davison - I don't know if he has any more stashed away in his hoard of donor parts.

I'm using a boss out of a 127, it's got the same slpine as the X1/9 column and my Momo is a direct fit.

Roger,
I have one with a new Mono steering wheel (new) fitted. What is it worth ? I need to sell it complete.

Gerard.

The boss is worth about £40, unfortunately I already have a wheel.
I have mde enquiries through merlin motorsport and they think a boss from a panda/ducato van (!) will fit and are still available, so I have ordered one to try, if it does not fit I may make you an offer.

Hi Guys
I've just done a search and found some helpful posts on this topic. Thanks.
I've seen a few people are using or have used the Mountney wheel in the past, did anyone try to use the Mountney Boss to accept Momo or Sparco wheels? (I have a montney Hub that fits an x1/9 shaft)

Anyone know or could measure what the mounting PCD is for a 6 bolt hole Sparco / Momo Wheel?
Thanks
Rob

PS
Gerard, I may be interested in your Momo Hub / wheel if I need a new Hub and Roger doesn't go for it. What model wheel is it?

I just recently got a boss for a Beta column for my Momo wheel from Demon Tweeks. Took ages to arrive (about 6 weeks) but it fits fine (apart from having to relieve the inside diameter a bit to clear the Momo horn-push adapter).

Point of all this is that I am sure they can get you one provided you aren't in a hurry. It wasn't expensive either - about £25.

Rob,
To answer your question.
Mono wheel looks like model 78. (Demon Tweeks '03 page 125). Black leather and outside diameter is 315mm and the horn switch is included.

Having ordered a adaptor from Merlin the spline pattern is wrong, however rather than returning it, it can be adapted, in that it is made in two main parts, one part which the steering wheel mounts to, and one part which forms the base which has the splined hole.
I can use my base off my old large diameter mountney boss (having cut the top off) which then will need 4 holes drilled and countersunck to accept the top half of the new adaptor, a bit fiddly but easier than sending things backwards and forwards.

Good thinking Roger, I get yor drift.

unfortunately for me my Mountney one is too small a diameter at the splined end to be cut off and bolt to the later collapsable type I have. I would still need to make some sort of adapter ring.
Not the sort of thing to impress my SVA man with !!! (but I'm sure you will make an excellent job of yours)

Gerard I'll send you an email about your hub/wheel

cheers

It worked a treat, and with the rubber cover looks perfect, sorry to say I'm already registered, so SVA does not worry me, if ever i want to put it back on the road, (just got to keep filling in the SORN notice every year)
