Rob,
If this is what you've done with only 50 metres on the clock, I'd hate to see what you do to it when it reaches it's first kilometre.
Cheers
Paul Morton
ps. I broke one as well - I was rebuilding mine at the time.

Typically sad and dull for me, but you do realise that it would still pass the SVA like that don't you! (It's within the 'exclusion zone' generated by steering wheel diameter plus 127mm).....

....and I have to ask, was that a brand new speedo or did Sir 'clock' it?? :D :D :D

Well....like the SVA man testing the Speedo accuracy, I thought that so long as I didn't read lower than when I got it, it was ok !!!!!!!

Clock had 90k+ miles on. When I was cleaning everything up and with the Glass out [when it was one piece!] I used a rubber grommet on the end of a drill bit and span the end 10th mile digit around and round. It probably took an hour or so in total, I just did it 10 mins at a time one day.

And as a few of you have asked...... I was pushing the clocks and front panel into the pod when I broke it (I've made it all fit from the front for easier access) but the clocks were fouling on the dash underneath. I thought it was just the wires holding everything back so pushed a bit harder...........................

cheers
Rob:)

Hi Rob,
When you first post this thread I thought that it was a bit daft and careless of you to let this happen !! but guess what, today I was just looking at parts of my kit and turned the dash upside down and out it pops hits the ground and the glass is in five pieces. Shut garage doors, continue tomorrow,

Gerard.

ME TOO! I was absolutely the most P'd off with myself I've ever been !

I've still not sorted it, as you say some times it's just better to just shut the door and leave it for a bit, or move on to other job.

As Chris says, "1 step forward, 2 steps back"!
or as I seem to be going - next job on the list, becomes five more jobs to do first..........

hope you get it sorted
cheers
Rob
