Jerry Bailey has had 2 cars stolen !!
1 Grp4 Mk2 Escort in Shell oil Livery (Mainly Black)
1 Mk3 Gartrac Escort (mainly Yellow)
I believe they were stolen last Tuesday 8th April, from the Salisbury area.
So if all you guy's can keep their eye's peeled and inform your mates from other clubs to do the same it would be much appreciated. As I understand it the engine from the Gartrac car has been recovered, so we may be looking for car parts rather than a complete car which will make things a liitle more difficult.

I would respectfully ask people NOT to phone Jerry as he has other problems at this time. Posting something on this thread will be great.

Many Thanks

Phil

You beat me to it Steve.

There's an Escort for sale in Shell Oils colours in Flintshire, but I very much doubt it'll be the one?

They'll be selling all the bits off for cash.

I've put a little something on "rallyesportescorts", I think a few have gone missing in the SW. I just hope things get better for Gerry et al. Quite often escorts have some special welded in identity, so, like you say, it will come back to haunt them or whoever thinks their clever buying cheap parts.

Looks like I'm not the first to post on there. The G3 was a proto:

Two rally cars stolen from barn

One of the cars is a prototype

Two rally cars described by police as "valuable and unique" have been stolen from a barn near Salisbury.
The vehicles - one of which is thought to be the only one of its kind - were removed from the structure in xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, Ford, on 1 April.
The prototype is a bright yellow Ford Escort Mk3 with the number 140 painted on the side in black.
The other is a black Escort MK2 with a horizontal white stripe under the windows. Both are marked with stickers.
The offenders are believed to have gained access via a track which leads from the Axxx at xxxxxxxxxxxx.
They moved a cultivator out of the way before forcing entry to the barn.
Pc Mark Welch said: "The owner of these cars has spent years working on them. "He is a rally enthusiast and doing-up the cars has been a real labour of love. They are worth thousands of pounds each, but are irreplaceable to the owner."

The sooner we get rid of the 'Human Rights do gooders' in this country who insist on treating the criminals as 'victims of society' the better.
We need proper deterants. Prison should be a 6x4 cell with bread and water and NO recreation. Even for a first offence. Chop their hands off for a second offence. Then let's see how many people would be willing to risk that.
This country has lost the plot. big time.
Looks like that place in the sun is getting even more tempting.

Lets hope the culprits are caught so they get their knuckles slapped. :(

Bastards. Thats all Gerry needs right now.

His G3 was at Abingdon 2006 and the MKII was at the Castle Combe rally show at the end of 2006 if any one has any photos to check Reg numbers etc.

I very much doubt if either car is now on the same colour or with everything still attached though...very sad.

Vote for Mr Worrall to be Minister for Prisons!

My RS2000 was stolen many years ago. They stripped the seats/harnesses/carburettors and a few other bits, then torched it. A real waste - there was a just-run-in 2.2 engine, lumenition ignition and a lot of other stuff that was worth stripping which was burned. They might have done it properly!! They took the ammeter, but didn't take the resistor that it required, so it would have melted when someone tried to use it, which made me smile. I spotted the Luke harnesses for sale second hand in a car shop in Edinburgh a few months later.

Just in case there's a bright yellow Mk3 rally car on Ebay at the moment. Might not be right but the back arches are not the proper Gartrac style and with it being a "prototype" I just thought I'd mention it. I'm sure they wouldn't be that stupid though?!.
