has any one had a problem locating a temp sender for the 12/v alfa, as all the main dealer's and other alfa parts suppliers say it has been delisted .
tried motor factor's to no avail and I think the existing one is faulty having replaced the gauge which now gives a low reading as opposed to no reading at all with the original gauge,

I have been lead to believe you use the existing sender and I have used a Beta oil temp sender that works just fine for my o/t gauge,

If you have 124 clocks then it would be a good idea to use a 124 sender.

I have 124 clocks and use the original 164 water temp sender. Calibration is spot on compared with the readings from the ECU. Oil temp I did with a modifed Beta oil temp sender thermistor fitted into the Alfa oil level probe housing.

You need to use the larger of the two spade connectors on the sender. One is for the temp gauge, the other (the smaller of the two blades) is a switch that drives the warning light. Quick check if you have a multimeter - the gauge sender should read a few k ohms to ground when cold, the warning light sender should read short circuit to ground when cold. Make sure you have the earth wire connected to the stat housing as well. The bolt corrodes so check it's clean.

Fitted new sender and it's very accurate on the gauge when checked against a digital temp reading at the stat housing. part no XTTS24 made by C. I
