Had a new oil pressure light switch in the block along with my mechanical oil pressure gauge. (As i understood from earlier threads, the 164 switch works opposite with the Hawk Harnes??)
The light comes on at cignition but stays on when the engine is running, mechanical gauge shows 5 bars. what could be wrong?? I did cut a bit of thread from the switch because it was to long, could trhat be the problem, or an air bubble??

Can't see how an air bubble would cause this problem - the air should be at the same pressure as the oil.

Is it an Alfa switch or aftermarket?
Normally they work by +ve supply to dash end, and sender/switch connects this positive to earth via the block. Low pressure makes the circuit. This is what the Hawk loom will be set up to do.
I think Alfa set up is that low pressure breaks the circuit.
Somehow you've got a permanent circuit through the dash light - disconnect wire from sender - if light stays on, you've got an earth somewhere else. If it goes out, suspect the sender switch is duff. ? swarf from cutting causing short inside sender.

Its aftermarket, so maybe you are right, perhaps some file got into it.
Anyone know what sender is any good to fit the Hawk loom and were to buy?

To clarify, are you talking low pressure warning switch or pressure sender unit? Demon Thieves etc. do adjustable pressure switches. I think the thread is pretty standard ??M10x1? the electrical connection is usually a standard spade connector.

Its the low pressure warning lamp, i am not sure which thread it is.
I will take it out and check. Thanks
