Here's the first picture of my ex Roger Donnan car in all its resprayed glory. The colour scheme was inspired by the Polski Fiat, OBRSO sponsored car. The colour codes were supplied by Guy Moerenhout and the paint was sprayed by Jim Hudghton of The Car & Body Paint Centre in Beverley, a company which I thoroughly recommend.
My greatest thanks go to Roger Donann who has been a truly decent guy to deal with throughout. Roger, I wanted to make public my appreciation to you for all of the work that you have done in preparing the car. Your good humour, honesty, patience when confronted by my late night 'what if?' texts and above all your sensible advise has made what could have been a fraught and complicated transaction straightforward and, dare I say it, fun! :) For goodness sake, you even took this photo!!!
The car passed its M.O.T on Monday and will be heading down to North London in a matter of days where it will spend the foreseeable future stuck in traffic jams thanks to our Dear Leader, Ken Livingstone.
I hope that you all like it. 'Coz I do !

Car looks great - I know you'll enjoy it. Last saw it at Donnington on the track about a year ago.

You've also got a car with some serious motorsport history :) So as well as looking great you know it can do the business!! I saw it from the paddock straight last year at Donnington and Roger was flying lap after lap.. Quite a contrast to sitting in the London queues :D

Thanks guys,
Luckily I live five minutes from the Hertfordshire countryside. So she may well be able to 'stretch her legs' sometimes. Although I will stay well within the posted speed limits, officer. ;)

Sorry but I took the plunge and bought a more track focused car - a Crossle 9s - a late run version of the 1966 sports racer, which is a dream to drive on the track. 217bhp and 550kg...... :D

Elliot, have you changed the springs? IIRC Roger had a very stiff setup that would be a handful on the road.

I have, as part of the deal -I returned the car to road spec - standard Hawk fronts with spax dampers and 230lb rears wtih the gaz dampers. the spares box contains the race gaz dampers 1" shorter than standard and uprated springs for future track use if needed.......

Elliott,
Very nice indeed, I'm sure you will get hours of pleasure from your car. There are some good roads in Hertfordshire - so I'm sure you'll be able to open her up a wee bit. :D
