Been thinking about spectating on a rally, I'm guessing this would be a good one to start with? So apart from take a warm jacket, what do I need to know?

It sounds like a 'must watch'. Whether you saw him in a Stratos in a forest 33 years ago or not?
Which stage will the back end fall off??

Rob,
Someone on the British Rally Forum says that spectators are not allowed into the service area at Tuxford on this year's rally. A safety issue, at the request of the land owner.
There's nothing mentioned on Lindholme's Robin Hood website though?

From the BritishRally forum
"the service area is near Tuxford and is closed to Spectators, due to the land owners request and for safety reason." from the Entries Secretary
"The forestery Commision have once again said that the car park at Sherwood Pine will be closed on Saturday night so there will be NO advertised stages on the Saturday night. This is due to Health and Safety fears and the bad behavour of two year ago. Sorry I would love to have the car park open but its out of our hands.
The usual stages will be available on the Sunday for spectators. Information will be available on the web site from the weekend before the rally." from the Clerk of the Course.
They are asking for marshals though...
Jimmy McRae now entered in the Porsche too.

Hiya read that in MN too, I'd heard there were problems at Sherwood Pines. I was thinking of another service area up near Thoresby, but I think I may be mixed up with the Dukeries.
Stages on Sat night are non spectator so lets hope Bjorn doesn't break a driveshaft ;) and makes it through until the Sunday!

I can't remember where I read it, but I think the Tuxford venue is new to rallying this year. I believe it is on a former competitors land.
Thoresby is usually the Dukeries service area. This one always used to use Wonderland (?) just off the roundabout in-between Clipstone and Blidworth.

Actually, that's the one I was thinking of. I take it it's not being used this time?

I think I'm correct in saying that the Tuxford area is part of Richard Walkers haulage business premises and, as such is actually private land, hense the 'no admittance' stance. That is of course unless you happen to be servicing for a friend ;) ;)

Hi guys, I hope to be joining you to watch it on Sunday. Will stay with parents nr Gainsborough on Saturday night, and head over the Trent on Sunday morning.
Are you planning to meet up anywhere, if so where and what time.
Not been to this event before, so no idea where to go.
Cheers

Waldegard was still going great guns through Clipstone and the Warsop stage after. I must say the engine sounded a lot crisper than last year. Not sure on the Stage timings but Probably very close between Waldegard and Blomquist. Real nice to see
Steve Perez was spectating at Clipstone also, looking well for a chap with a bad back/neck. Be good to see him back behind the wheel soon.
Jack took two short video's, will try and upload them onto Youtube then post a link back here.

Thats cheered my day up a bit, impressive driving especially considering what the car is worth. Bjorn seems to rev the engine a bit less and not be so harsh and still be very quick - armchair comments from me. Hope that MC video site has some more incar footage.
I'm busy getting my historic Ferrari running so better get back to it, might even be ready for this years RAC.

Thanks Phill,
No menton of a comparison between the VK car and his previous stratos mounts, Interested as a former forum member always claims the VK car is so far removed from a "real Stratos" mechanically that it should not be called one. There view not mine.
If he is out again I will need to make a bigger effort to attend.

PS I noticed from the video that the VK car has a very similar rollcage to my Allora
