All this talk of fibreglass and powerfiles is making me itchy, and reminding me that I have no idea how to deal with the stuff properly.
Since I am soon to embark on the horror of the bodywork, can anyone recommend a good beginners book please? Ideally I want to know the right way to go about repairs, small mouldings and finish prep.
TIA

Chris,
I bought " Competition Car Composites" by Simon McBeath and "Fibreglass and Composite materials" by Forbes Aird.
Both were good reads, but the McBeath book I felt was a little more practical by way of "top tips".
You are welcome to borrow both if you like- just send me your address (again).

Hi John,
Thanks for the recommendation. Thanks also for the offer of a loan - but I'll take a rain check as I'd like my own copy. If I surround myself with books, maybe I'll learn something.........

Chris,
I should have added really that both of these books deal primarily with making your own panels. They are both a bit lean on content involving modification and painting preparation and methods. I would guess that the best source of info. on paint etc. would be the paint manufacturers who seem to have no end of blurb.

John,
That's fine - I didn't really expect a one-book solution to all my questions, just looking to try and avoid the worst SNAFUs if I can......
