I've seen a couple cars fitted with these. Reminds me of some minilites, but I doubt they are.

Possibly painted up Superlites?
Nowadays though the 15in versions have an extra spoke or two. I don't think they used to originally though.

I think they are genuine Minilites.

Compomotives look great in 15", but not wide enough for group 4 rears.

Superlite 13" are great too, but as you say, for some strange reason their 15" design has more than 8 spokes and doesn't look much like a Minilite.

I like the look of Chris Ellis's minilite style (Image?) group 4 rear split rims though?

'Could do with a photo from a better angle than this:

Minlites.
Don't you think these have a slightly bigger centre?

Anybody know the correct yellow colour code?

Minlites.

Those do have bigger centres. Are'nt they based on the original 'Sport' version? Like the type that Sebring MGCs had in the day?

The original magnesium style can be seen here on the Chequered Flag Stratos 3:

Steve Perez's car runs on narrower 15" Minilites.

CF3 from the side.

'Just had a look again at the Minilite website. It's 'Mag Style' that don't have the big centres, but are available in alloy and 8". I have'nt seen an example myself.

The ones that are actually made of Magnesium are limited to 6". So the ones on the VK car could be 6"?

'Looks like the type with the bigger centres are still referred to as 'Sport'.

The ones on the CF car look like 10" rear and 8" front? They'll be very old, Magnesium and (in the case of a 10x15" version) no longer available.

So, my guess is that the red car at the beginning of the thread has the 8x15" 'Mag Style' alloy Minilites all round?

Although they could be Compomotive MLs as Rob has suggested? It's harder to tell when they're painted like that?

That Flag car does look nice with Minilites ....mmmm... thinks again.

Wonder if you can get a 7x16" and a 9x16" or 10x16" version

Just looked at Image wheels.
They do the RM1 Classic Minilite replica in 16"
I could get a 7 or 7.5 front and a 9 or 10" rear.
Just need to sort some Toyo Tyres, a new paint job, a re-built engine, re-welded chassis, rolling road setup and the money to pay for it all

Yes John, I have to decide between Flag and early Alitalia.

Certainly looking more like a Flag car right now - thinking Dawson 1976 Mintex as it looks more intersting.

Still got to get the engine and welding sorted first.

Could be on the cards for 2009 though.

Gerry mentioned Ferrari galio fli. I had mine painted the other month :D There are 2 versions of this yellow in the code / mixing programme so we optioned for a 50/50 hybrid!!! Very nice..

The colour that my wheels came in seemed very pasty but seemingly its correct  By the look of it chris Ellis's front wheels are the correct colour. I thought Gialo fli was a more 'normal' colour, like Bobs stradale

No rush just yet for painting spare wheels. ;)

..great minds and all that. I was looking at some Flag pictures today and changed my mind. I think you're right. It's the paint that makes it more difficult to tell. ......Plus I bet Tryphon is having Kittens that we would suggest one of his mates would have anything other than genuine Mag Minilites on their car... :)

The Compomotive ML 8x15 is a really nice looking wheel. A very close second to the best that Minilite have to offer in that size I reckon. It's a shame Compomotive don't do a 10, 11 or 12" in their ML style. Dave W's yellow Allora had 8x15 ML wheels all round didn't it?

What's the widest cast wheel available now? (apart from Hawk coffin spokes)
Revolution 5 spoke 9x15?

Here's a bad photo of Chris Ellis's car when it had 8" MLs all round:

I'm pretty sure these are Minilite 8x15 'Mag Style'

'Not 100% sure though.

Yep they are the widest I know of in one piece wheels. Thats because 9" is the MSA limit nowadays I think.

hi there, sorry not to have come back to you all about the wheels but been a bit busy building a garage to house the toy in!!
The wheels on my car were 8x15 compomotive ML pattern one piece with different offsets for the front (0) and (-24) back
the original set were gold and the second set were Yellow. Both of the sets of wheels were made in the factory and sprayed by them before I got them.
i only asked for the colours generically and not specifically by paint code.
I have since then had a pair of 12 inch Image split rims for the back, again painted in Yellow but these are a far deeper shade than the original compomotive ones.
One of my jobs on the list is to take a yellow 8inch rim to the paint supplier and get them to match the shade so that all of the wheels match.

not a high priority at the moment though but I will keep you informed when i have done the deed.......

regards
chris
