My machine didn't open all the pictures. Is that unusual? Having said that I couldn't see a single Pirelli liveried model........annoying.

Mine didn't open about 4, but they were all Alitalia, so no loss there. I'm taken by the Olio Fiat livery - has anybody done that one?

That's been one of my favourites since I saw it on the Yahoo Stratos site - had you seen those pictures? The design on the photo's I saw there are different to that on the model at this site.

You can also get a model car form the Vitesse 'Skid' range in Olio livery.

The other thing I noticed on the site you mentioned is the different body styles, at the bottom of the page. I've seen the Tour de France front end, plus the Group 5 and Silhouette bodywork, but not the simple Turbo ones at the bottom.

They seem to have the TdF front end, smooth Grp 4 rear arches, plus a small scoop on the central tub and a larger ducted scoop in the door panel. That's another alternative for anyone looking to change the standard kit for something different (besides the prototype bodywork, of which at least two kits are being built).

Personally, I think the best one on there is the Chequered Flag Ypres 79.

John Duffin's car is almost identical to that livery, except it now has Henley Forklift Door Panels and Billy Coleman's name on the side from when I took it to Dublin last year.

FWIW the original Olio Fiat car at Yahoo is currently owned by Dutchman John Bosch (The car wears his Barron Racing decals).

And he has another one, awaiting restoration. Don't know the livery of that one, but can ask if someone wants to know.

Talking about colour schemes, does anybody know the correct colour/paint code for the yellow used on Alitalia wheels? I have had mine painted and they turned out washy colour!

Here's another site with a lot of original liveries. It's in Japanese, but the pictures seem to come out in English. ;)

Hi Chris,

After much deliberation and viewing countles images of the Olio colours I decided to choose what I think are the closest colours. I therefore chose a Variant of Peugot blue, Fiat yellow and Ford diamond white. I hope that the pictures enclosed will help you in your choice of colours.

Hi Ger,

Thats the colour scheme I've chosen for my Corse. I already had the yellow code but am having trouble finding the blue. I reckon there was more than one blue used anyhow. Your choice looks great. Well done.
When will it be on the road?

Cheers,
Mick

I was in a Fiat/Alfa dealers this week, and had a look at their colour panels. 258 Broom Yellow is, as we know correct, and looks in the flesh like the pictures. 403 is a very dark blue that looked almost black in some light (as some pictures do), but would probably look much bluer in bright Italian sunlight. 451 was another possibility, looking more like that Peugeot Blue. The current Fiat Stilo rally team is using 507 Imola Yellow /246 Murano Blue.
Given that there are at least 2 versions of the "dazzle" OlioFiat scheme, plus the "away strip" mainly white one on Strato's'ss'ss'ss, it's probable that there was more than one colour used too!

Thanks Mick,

I'm impressed at the amount of build you've managed to do in 4 weeks. I hope to complete the car before the summer period. My car is a Hawk and it will be quite interesting to see the difference between the two cars.

Hi Geraint,

We really must make a point of getting together at some point. I do hope to be at Abingdon, but then, best laid plans and all that.
I look forward to seeing yours and comparing notes.
Keep pushing on to completion.
Best of luck.

Mick
