Hi guys.

Looking to get the 164 running well before I make a final decision as to whether to use this engine or to source one of the later 2.5/3.0/3.2 units (which I rather think I would prefer to use).

To that end, I'm looking for the plastic tubes that link the intake runners to the plenum. Don't want the bigger Cloverleaf ones - just those from a normal 24V 164 Super (and also used on the sthmatic Kappa 24V engine too, but not on any of the others). Don't need the clips, but the tubes must not be split or too hardened of course.

Could also do with an inlet manifold from a 3.0 or 3.2 24V (they are all the same) if anybody has one knocking around. I've a stripped thread on mine and can't be arsed to get it off, helicoil it and refit it.

Happy new year!

did you get a set of these Peter? I've spotted a set on a spare engine in my garden! I haven't investigated the condition yet.

No I haven't found any Chris.

One or two of mine are reasonably pliable still but at least three have hardened to the point where they split a bit more each time I remove them.

Be grateful of you'd take a look in the garden when you have a moment Chris, but it's probably too cold where you are right now! Are you sure you don't need them?

Should get time tomorrow peter. I don't need them because I'm on the larger runners.

I have a spare 166 3.0 24v plenum. Any use to you? £ 25.00

Do you still need the other bits that i forgot to send? Boxed and ready if you still need them?

Hi John. Don't need the coil packs any longer - bought a complete set, but could really use a pair of ignition amplifiers on loan for swapping over to test mine.

This is a bloody hard engine to test the ignition on, with individual coils, amplifiers, especially working single handed.

The 164 plenum on my car is fine John so I don't need that particular bit.

What I'm after doing is to get the 164 on the road and running well. I've almost decided to sell it and use a later Alfa V6 (GTV/166/156) instead. I've invested hundreds in the 164 though: belts, tensioners, sensors, s/steel fasteners, w/pump, front brakes, battery, other stuff, so I'd like to sell it with MoT so the engine canbe tried out etc, etc. It has a great engine. There's a house move coming up soon too and I might have to offload it in a hurry.

The 166 has a fly by wire throttle body, not sure if its the same size.

Please tell all about your planned mod :)

Just grafting a 164 throttle body on to a Lancia plenum. Involves cutting off the mounting from the alfa one and tig it somehow onto the differently shaped lancia inlet. All in the name of vanity.
