A very sad day today. :( :( :( :(

After 11 years and 9 months I have finally had to acknowledge that the battery on the Alfa 145 was on it's last legs and replace it. These last few cold mornings it just hasn't had the cranking power to start the engine. I don't think I'll ever have a battery last as long.

But before I wash the years of crud off the outside and polish it for it's pedestal, can they be revived?

Damned good age Guy!! What ever happened to those tabs you could drop into the battery cells to revive them? Used to last for a few days then flat again :( Cold mornings = flat old battery = new battery!!

You can fix this battery Guy... :p

Take one very oily snake, hold vertically over each open cell in turn and squeeze said snake until his eyes water and oily residue enters cell. Works for me but the snake gets a bit pi55ed.

Recover it?
NO.

Wipe away tear, then prepare to negotiate with the keepers of the recycling rule book.
