My blue dash light isn't working, and I can't tell whether I'm on dip or main beam. You'd think it was obvious, but it wasn't! One light stops in a different place each time it's opened, and the other looks all right, but the alignment must be arse-for-elbow. Don't know why. Every MOT I have to readjust them again. I think I'm going to bolt them up like the works cars and throw away the lift motors. Not looking forward to undoing all the wiring though. Harrumph!! Next thing they'll tell me it's nearly Christmas. Bah Humbug!

It's nearl....

Mine are the same Chris (except the lamps do seem to stop in more or less the right place) and they are going to get some serious lamps when I get round to it. I can't adjust mine high enough on dipped beam. As they are they make pretty good fog lamps.

    Oh NOOOOOO!

I get a great amount of light out of the HID system, i just wish it would point somewhere useful! Do originals suffer from this problem?

I don't think they do Chris.

They just don't give any really useful amount of light at all so it doesn't much matter where they point. Mine are X1/9 units I think. Chris J will know for sure what they are and if these are right for a real Stratos.

If you have a lamp pod fitted permanently then take the motors out and fit a solid link. Saves some weight ;)

They are original equipement X1/9 lamps Peter, but I'm not sure they are what an original Stratos would have. They probably are authentic though?

Coming back home from Chatsworth I had the same problem. Sealed beam units, one pointing at the road 4 foot in front on main beam and the other about 2 foot. I didn't bother with dip! It was dangerous really.

I had to do a bit of fiddling when I first got the car, to get both pods in the right place on the up positon and level on the down. I don't know how much up fine adjustment I've got on the bowl yet. Probably not enough?!

I'm planning to fit 7" Cibie H4 units like Ken Tomblin has.

So many things to do? I never got chance to even fit the passenger seat in or a seat belt for that side for this season. Didn't get chance to change the cam belt either, and that was pretty high on the priority list.
