Any ideas where I can find a wooden gear change knob for my HF3000? Any ideas on the thread size?

Allen

You know the authentic item is an old Beta gearstick knob?

If you're looking for a conical wooden gearknob as fitted to the Beta and Stradale drop me line Allen. I think I've got a new one somewhere!

lets wait and see if it fits first! I think I got it from Spiderpoint in Germany as it's the same shape as the one in the Fiat Spider...

Is it just early FWD Betas that had them as standard?

Yes Chris, the series one Coupe, Spider and HPE but not the saloon. Series two cars had a black plastic one. If you find someone selling parts from a first series Beta remember to sak if they have the door mirrors and glovebox lock/retaining clip and key!

Hi Guy,
Got my Beta stuf from a specialized Beta breaker here in Holland: Gear shifter with wooden knob, drive shafts, inside mirror, wiper motor.
I could ask if he's got some more spares??
If someone is interested or searching !

Did not know about the mirrirs, what should they look like?

So from the Beta series one :
Wooden gear knob, door mirrors and glove box lock, retaining clip and key ?
Or is there more?

Those are the specific series one items of interest Pim.

There are not so many parts from any old Beta required. People just don't seem to go for standard struts and strut tops, twin cam engines, standard brakes and 4 stud hubs these days?

The mirrors are chrome ones. If you see a picture of an original Stratos with a mirror on the passenger door it's a Beta one painted black. Very similar in shape to the standard drivers door one.

The only other thing I can think of is the fuel breather valve and the Cavis plastic tubing for the fuel tank vents. Bonnet catches can also be used but they are common to most Fiats and Lancias of the era.
