My son found this and some other pics of this car on the Club GTI forum, taken this year in August or September. No pictures of it on the circuit though.
The Q-plate car has Alfa Power, marked John Whalley on side. Looks like there was a bit of engine trouble.
Don't remember anybody mentioning or posting this. Whose car is it?

Of John Whalley Lancia, Bishops Stortford.
I have a load of pics of that car with an 8v turbo engine. It's still sporting its intercooler intake, underneath the roof spoiler.

For a while he had two. the other car was the Dino engined, round arch group 4 car that was owned by Grumpy. I think the dino was switched out for an alfa. That car is the one that has recently been on Pistonheads, fitted with stradale bodywork and a thema 8.32.
If you look closely at John Whalley's adverts in an old Auto italia mag you can see the turbo car in the foreground and the marlboro/grumpy car under the lift at the rear corner.

About time too?
The car has red Stradale bodywork now, but you can see the position of the rear end targa catch half way up the side of the car. A lasting reminder of its former Grp. 4 round arch shape.
Peter, I've got a photo of your car and John Whalley's 8v Turbo car (the one that you've posted 2 photos of) parked together at Castle Combe.

Nice one Chris. Any chance of a hi-res scan and e-mail of it to me?
Do I recognise the exhaust on the John Whalley car? I think it highly likely!
