Anyone out there got a spare sump for a 1991 164, Im afraid I got carried away when testing the car out and bottomed out over a crest taking a lump out out of my sump. must say it goes like stink :D
While Im on how would I know the difference between a standard 164 and a cloverleaf ? . As mine has a little brass coloured clover on the boot??.

cloverleaf 12v engines have an oil/water heat exchanger between the block and oil filter, the water pipes from this pass around the o/s of the engine and join up with the water in/out/thermostat assembly on the o/s of the engine.

Mel, do you have the all the pieces of the sump? Geoff Turton regularly stitches ally sumps, gearbox casings and bellhousings back together again! This will probably be a cheaper option than buying a replacement and may give you an opportunity to have an oil temperature sender installed in the sump.
If you want to call Geoff his works number is 0151 420 3420.
