Help - I need a chassis number!

Hi guys, tried to order a set of exhaust gaskets yesterday, six head to manifold and two manifold to downpipe but the jobsworth wouldn't order them without a chassis number and mine only confused him as it's a Beta one! What I need (apart from the gaskets) is a chassis number from an "F" plated 12v 164. Has anyone still got a logbook from a donor of this age so that I can call them on Tuesday?

Mine was a 'G' 12v if that's close enough.

Yes, a G plater would be fine, it wasn't until a few years after that that the 24v was introduced and I'm sure that the gaskets will be identical. I have now found where the system was blowing from and it wasn't any of the joints! It is the flexipipe from the front manifold under the engine. It looks like the internal weld has fractured. There are 4 nuts/bolts holding this pipe on, two at each end. The back two had to be hacksawed off and one of the front ones sheared the stud...... But at least the pipe is off now so it can be fixed tomorrow if Geoff is in! The spare manifold only had one broken stud but a pipe wrench removed that in no time so all I need is two front tyres and the exhaust put back on and the car should be ready for an MOT test. I still l want the gaskets though! SO Andy, if you could post your chassis number on this thread I will be passing an Alfa dealer on the way to get the tyres tomorrow.

Guy, I've got a parts cd, and can work out from that the parts numbers for your bits, without the chassis number. Engine number might help, but not essential.
