Both sides? Drivers and passangers?
If both, then I'm interested in them.
Also let me know the asking price, you can email directly on this if you like.
Thanks

Can I suggest you wait until i post pic then you email me if still interested on my private email. top bid wins with 10% going to the Abington CARnavel Any money to change hands in person on the day. Anybody ever considered reproducing side windows in glass? I realize it's a small market, but given the level of interest, there must be an advantage over perspex.

I'll take a pass on this, as it is only a single side.
I may have a handle on a pair.
In the meantime, I plan to put some round aircraft style "2 3/4" dia "snap-vents" to get some airflow.
Perspex / Plexiglas / acrylic lends itself very easily.

Gerry has looked at this a couple of times but the problem was the tooling cost. If my memory serves me right it was about £3000 but I can't remember if that was for a pair or each side. On top of that is the actual cost of manufacture etc and that made the final costings prohibitive.
Now, this was a potential killer of the whole car come the introduction of SVA in the UK. Gerry probably wouldn't have carried on manufacturing the car for purely overseas markets but fortunately he managed to get exemption for the side windows as sidescreens which meant they can be made in perspex.
But, I and a few others still fancy a set of glass side windows and the possibility of looking at a small run is a possibility but we need a pair of pattern parts to even think about getting the ball rolling. Finding one side would be a start for me and would encourage me to look for the other and start talking to people. Come to think of it, the club has some money stashed away and I'm the one signing the cheques.............
If Jeff has sourced a pair elsewhere perhaps Roberto Cassetta may be willing to become a partner in reproducing these windows? Over to you!

How about Master Autoglass? (they do the Corse screen). Now that was a small produciton run if ever there was one! The chap that made the tooling is still working for them and was certainly friendly and helpful when I ordered a couple of front screens from him....
Personally I am quite happy with the plastic ones myself and it's highly likely that Hawk & Corse & Allora are all different anyway.
Other issues with glass spring to mind like there won't be any more 'tweaking' with a hot air gun to improve the fit & seal for example. Weight. Competition use?? (just asking - wouldn't know either way myself).

thanks for your offer to become partner in glass door windows reproduction.
I had your same experince here in Italy; Remake side glasses is very, very expansive.
Sometime STRATOS owners ask me that windows in glass and sometime I have some of them s/h but, after heard the price, (they're very hard to find and so very expansive) they turn theyr choice on Gr.4 perspex windows.
Sorry, I'm not interested to remake glass windows; I have inquires for about 2 pairs per year and there's no point to spend all that money for jigs.
If I'd ask a fair price it would take me 48 years to get back the jigs cost, if I'd ask an expansive price everybody would buy Gr.4 windows, as today happens with s/h glass windows.
CIAO !!

What ever happened with this?
This wasn't the broken one on another thread, was it? :(
Was what side ever determined?
I have a left side glass on the way as the pair was not available, so I'm in need of the right side glass at the moment.
Thx
Jeff
