Hi all. Just wanted to give you a quick progress report.
Things are going really well with the Stratos. It looks like the new routine is going to be 1 or 2 half days work in the evening and 1 full days work on the weekend. My dad and I have been working together on the weekends so it's a lot of fun even if we don't get much done. The big news this weekend is that we got the gauges mounted in the dash. There is still a lot of finish work to do including some trimming on the back pieces but everything looks good so far. We should be ready to start wiring it all up next weekend.
Hope you are all making great progress on yours.
Ciao,
John B.

Here's a reference shot of an original Group 4 dash for comparison.

Looking good John.
My own 'progress' is far less interesting to look at :(
Still, it is progress of a sort. Never ceases to amaze me how long it takes to do the simplest little things - I spent most of Sunday just finishing off the A/C radiator mountings and fitting the battery tray/battery leads. Space seems to be at something of a premium under the hood.....
I had found that recently the sight of the 'work in progress' in the garage had reached the stage where I didn't even want to look at it, let alone do any of it. A couple of decent weekends focusing on small jobs have helped to get my head straight about it again, so I'll just keep doing small jobs until there are none left to do......and the car will be finished as if by magic.

Well, another weekend doing small jobs on the car has gone by. I say weekend, just Sunday really as most of Saturday was devoted to sorting out the wipers on Vickie's Westfield.
Almost finished under the hood now. Just need to mount the A/C receiver/dryer and run a couple of hoses then it's done for now.
Next hurdle is to complete the rest of the A/C system and cram everything under the dash area (alarm, immobiliser, mirror & window wiring & switches), then I can move on and make the console/tunnel/footwell panelling.
God, I'm depressed again now.........:(

I just posted a few more images in the Gallery of what I have been up to on the car lately. Far from comprehensive though.
It's gone to bed for the winter now so it's back to fiddling with metal brackets and trying to design and fabricate an interior of some sort from the comfort of the Mechanical Workshop where I work.
Maybe next year it'll get painted......... an Abingdon debut starts to look doubtful :(
