Started with looking at the electrics, trying to figure out each connection before installing. I almost figured it out but encountered some problems with the Hawk wiring loom.

1 I suspect my power distribution bourd is a RHD for it fits nicely in the left of the car, it fits in the right but then the fusses are in top so can not be reached. Are there LHD and RHD looms or just RHD

2 On the central loom there are 2 five-point female connectors to connect the engine . Should there also be 2 five-point male connectors with wires, to connect to the engine to? If so they are missing from my loom, also the brown wire to connect the alternator to the battery :(

3 I could not locate the wires for the courtesy lights, are courtesey lights mandatory for SVA??

4 The front indicators do they have to be mounted more forward from its original place ( for SVA ), i have seen it on a car, I think it was Johns car??

5 Last one: there should be a cable for an electric speedo, i suspect its the grey one ( it starts at the dash and end near the gear box ), has any one used an electric speedo with the alfa gearbox sensor? Would it be possible?

So there a lot of Questions, I have tried reading the SVA manual but its very hard to understand for me, Its not the school English i learned.
So i hope you guys can help me out.

Thanks and cheers.

Point 2: I think you put male connectors on the wires from the engine loom.

1.
I am building a left hand drive.I have mounted my fuse board on the right side but turned it upside down to get the loom to run in the right direction, then mounted the board on hinges so it is easier to access the relays & fuses.

2.
you should have an 9 pin plug & a 2 pin plug, brown wire should be seperate to connect from the battery cut off switch.

3.
Dont think that inerior light is mandatory for s.v.a., not 100% on that but my wiring is missing to although it is mentioned in the manual.

4.
Front indicators must be able to be seen from required distance with the front end open, sound a bit silly to me.

5.
I would say s.crap the grey cable & fit a normal speedo cable.

Hope all that helps.....

The male connectors were not with the Hawk loom, do i have to buy them myself or should they have been delivered with the loom? The manual is reffering to connecting the mail connectors as to the brown alternator cable thats also missing.
Here's a picture of the 2 connectors:

Good tip thanks for that maybe I will go for that option!

Sorry, i can't help further Pimms, my car has a custom loom. Looks like your at one of those uncharted areas of kitcar building! There is no "right" answer, as long as what you do works.

Hi Pimms:
Your loom connections are different to mine, as mentioned I have a 9pin & a 2 pin plug set up, i thought there was something strange when the manual mentioned two five pin plugs but there you go,the good old Hawk build manual!!!!. As for the alternator cable, it should be there along with the connectors & pins but due to the length needed I made up my own altenator cable.
