View Full Version : Testing the water

I have often wondered if I would ever sell my Hawk - the answer has always been If someone paid enough or if there was something else which would necessitate the sale.
I have now been offered a chance to buy a Crossle 9s, to do this would mean selling the Hawk and this is something I would contemplate if the price was right.
What is a Hawk worth..... the answer is as much as someone is willing to pay.
So I am testing the water, In order to make the puschase of the Crossle feasable I would need to raise around £17500 for what is currently essentially a race car, however I have kept all the parts needed to put it back on the road and as such it would make a demon trackday car.
Any thoughts any one??????

No - I consider £15000 a realistic price, I would raise the rest from sale of The Alfa 33 and a spare Ducati 1992 900ss

in reply to richards question the list is as follows:
from the rear forwards
replace rear numberplate
replace numberplate light
remove high intensity foglight
replace normal 21w foglight
replace rear springs
replace rear discs/calipers with handbrake assembly.
relocate battery from passenger footwell probably to behind one of the seats
replace second seat and belts
remove fire extinguisher
remove door bars
replace door bins
add key type ignition switch
remove transponder
add a fuel level sender to petrol tank
replace the windscreen washer
relace the horn
replace headlights/motors/wiring to front body section
replace side indicator repeatars
add a front numberplate
Thats it I think. I have all the parts except an ignition switch assembly and rear spring seats
Raise the ride hight and MOT, (is currently registered SORN)

Guess I should also follow this thread with some interest. After all, my car is much closer to being road-ready (need to fit new windscreen, fix headlamp motor operation, and put back in passenger seat, then get MOT). But I don't quite want to sell at the moment.
I can see why you would want to get a Crossle, gotta be one of the best choices for SRGT series.
If you do sell the Strat, I hope you get a decent price for it.
