Hello all, well most of my life has been spent in America where I hear there are only around 6 Stratos and I never manged to see one. I now have the great fortune to be in Germany for the next few years. One of the many things I want to see during my time here is a Stratos, preferably in Gr. 4 trim. So far I have not managed to google any good info on where to see one. In my studying I found out that I just missed the big show in France but I'll try and catch it next year. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Sorry to disappoint but If I remember correctly from a previous post by Tryphon the World Stratos meet is every 2 years.
Visit England in September for the Chatsworth Rally show (see events section) and you will see a number of replicas, I would not be surprised if the Steve Perez VK Stratos was there as well. While you are in the country visit Sutton Historic Motorsport, They have a museum that has an ex works Grp 4 car. Its free to visit but by arrangement only.
Hope all that helps, I know its not that local to you but flights are really cheap these days.
Regards
Stephen

I was led to believe that the David Sutton car was not a works car. I am sure it was a privateer car from Portugal or some such place, that was eventually repainted to look like Waldegards car.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

www.stratos.de. I'm sure Udo will be delighted to show you his cars and the others spending time in his shop. All are Gr.4 and pretty nice.

The Marlboro one was Udo's the early Alitalia was Walter's. They both reside at Udo's place most of the time, nice cars.

Hello Rob,
if you are in the south-west of germany you can find a stratos in the "auto and technik museum" in sinsheim. The museum is about 40km southeast of Heidelberg.

Found this picture of the Stratos in Sinsheim ...

looks like a GP4, but i donīt know if it is a replica or not ...
I think iīll be in the museum next month! Will take some photos and information of the car ...

Thank you all so much for the info. Funny enough I was planning on going to the Teknik museum in Sinsheim soon anyway. Might have to speed that plan up a little bit. Thanks again.

I looked around that sight and all I could find were hot air balloons? Is it the same person's group?

Rob,
If you don't mind me asking - where were you located in the USA, and where will you be living in Germany? I only ask because business travel has taken me to Germany quite a bit this year, and I may have a free weekend there in August.
I'd also second the idea of popping over the UK for one of the SEC events, or any rally event where a Stratos might be in attendance. I've done that a couple of times this year. Both bookings were done with about a weeks notice and very tight time constraints on my part, and were about $300 round trip, including car rental for a weekend. With more flexibility on flight times, you could probably do it for far less.
