Hi Guy
It is unbelievable as I have not seen any news locally about this this ban !

Big brother is coming to town.... would be interesting to see what happens if me Sando and Mick (Notts) and a couple of others got together to try it out !!

And they wonder why Normal people want to leave these shores and live in other countries !

BA**ARDS !

My first reaction was the same.....but having seen some footage of dozens of brainless chavs racing up and down some normal roads in Brum doing poor attempts at drifting in amongst Joe Public...I can see where they are coming from. Do a google on Hams Hall and see what I mean. Please don't call it harmless fun......

If this is just a way for them to have a framework to apply to the frak-wits, then great. If it's used without brain and is just a blanket ban...then we are all truly scuppered.....can't even meet up with a few mates at a local pub. The tone of the article suggests the writer is being selective about facts to me. Crushing a bike for being ridden in a country park?? Nice one! Fines for yoofs tearing up & down unlicenced and uninsured risking life & limb of passersby - again, well done.

A quick google and all I can see are links to this one article quoted in many different places. A search on the official Notts website returns no results on this topic either. Fake maybe??

Hmmm.
The story is reported here. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/6756403.stm

Like we all know, it's aimed at the knobheads who insist in ruining it for the majority. However, in instances like this, it always seems to be legislated in a totally unworkable fashion. For instance, the injunction is designed to prevent 5 or more vehicles driving in convoy on the counties roads.
Oh dear, looks like we have to ban funerals and weddings then.

Now where did I put that French property guide?? :p

How does this affect Stage rallies in the Nott’s area, quite often competitors travel more or less in convoy between stages!!!

Hi boys,

Worrying trend but as someone who lives in close proximity to two racetracks - one town centre ring road and one major shopping centre i see the other side very clearly. I guess you will do the sensible thing and so will the boy racers and go in threes & fours with about five minutes between each group - how they love to work a loophole! It will be down to the descretion of the boys in blue whether or not your pulled & done but i reckon it won't matter what numbers your travelling in if they decide the have 'reasonable cause' to pull you but i doubt you'll be wearing a prat cap and have that youthful sarcastic grin! Do what Guy does and make yourself well known to the local constabulary and you'll be surprised what a difference it makes. I have friends with blue flashing lights...

Quite a simple solution to that one Stephen. Ban Rallying.
I sometimes think that's what the MSA want when you see what hoops you have to jump through to organise or compete in one. :(

Here here! I didn't hear a 'hurrumph' from that fellow... :D !

Couldn't agree more! :D What will have to happen is that organisers of events & privateers out for a jolly will be 'encouraged' to inform the BiB of their intended route ;) . This is what happens with the hundreds of scooterists which gather in Brum for their monthly sunday rideouts. Generally all goes well but there will always be one....

Suppose I should have thought of checking the Beeb, shouldn't I....

I suspect it's just to provide the framework. Attitude if/when challenged will make a lot of difference no doubt.

And what about the buses?

Absurd.

Banning all gatherings of cars is not the solutiojn to 'chav' or other bad behaviour.

Wish the BiB were so keen to find cars once they've been stolen, as they are to find legitimate owners with their cars...

On a similar note, my Beta Spyder did have a section 59 against it...........in other words an ASBO!!! Basically the engine was cold & still on choke, I was in 1st gear & turning into a new road. The carb. needed overhauling but basically (still in 1st gear) I accelerated, still doing less than 30MPH, & a copper (who was walking) jumped into the road & stopped me for speeding!!! I tried to question how he could prove it then went onto tell him what a carburettor & a choke are & that how a K&N filter enhances the induction noise. He then said that the car is unroadworthy due to the rear hood not being present (a new 1 was on order) & that there were sharp edges due to the rear parcel shelf not being in place, again no point as the hood was off, plus it had just (1 week) passed it's M.O.T. He was going to give me 2 weeks to get it "roadworthy" but I said that I couldn't comply with that due to the new hood taking 2-3 weeks to be made/fitted so he slapper a section 59 on the car which is basically a government knee jerk reaction ( a comment from a traffic cop mate of mine who hadn't even heard of the order until I'd received one) to stop the chavs from doing handbrake turns on Tesco's etc. If the car was seen being driven anti socially anywhere in the country, then it would be impounded & subsequently crushed if a spot fine wasn't paid.
