I have been in the unfortunate position of testing the front crumple zone of the Hawk Chassis and have to say it has stood up to frontal impact with armco well. The parts meant to bend have done so and protected the rest of the chassis, so there is no damage to suspension/steering/wheels.
All I need now is a new front body section - I'll have to speak nicely to Gerry as I would like to get it mended in time for the Phoenix Park Races in Dublin on 11th/12th August.

OUCH!!!
At least the damage is not structural Roger. Probably looks worse than it is but it's still bad enough.
Good to see you escaped OK.
Hope your repair schedule goes to plan.
Best of luck. :)

I take it you did'nt win that race Roger
Sorry to see the damage but you should be able to get out soon if a new front end is forth comming :)
On a more helpful note perhaps some nice Strat kit owners who are a bit away from completion may donate there front end in lieu of a new replacement once Hawk cars can make one? The one thing I know for sure about this community is that they are mostly the most generous people you are likely to meet and will help if at all possible. What about it guys?
Roger is out there showing the breed off and doing well.
Roger if an Allora front fits your welcome to borrow it to get to Ireland

Stephen

Spoke to Gerry yesterday - very helpful, he thinks he can have a new front end made by the time I get back from Hols on 15th of July. Am dropping the rest of the car to my friendly local fabricator today, to cut out and replace the front chassis members, Chris Smith has one radiator left from the batch made last summer. so there is no reason why i should not get it together for Dublin. 3 weeks should be OK so long as there are no snags.
