The innaugral Chatsworth Rally Day is being held at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire over the weekend 28th & 29th September & Club Lancia Sport have a stand. CLS cater for ALL Lancia's, NOT just your Integrales, & you'll be made to feel VERY welcome. Chatsworth used to be used in the good old days of rallying as a "spectator" stage on the Sunday of the R.A.C. Rally & parts of the stage will be used again over the weekend when the Grp B & other cars will be demontrating their stuff, including the watersplash & yump
Tickets can be bought individually, but if you book through CLS, then you'll be "part of the show" with your car on our stand, plus (on the Sunday) you'll be able to drive over the stage before it goes "live", but no doubt we'll be in formation. Prices are:-
Day Pre-purchase Pay on day
Saturday 29th
£11.00 £15.00
Sunday 30th
£15.00 £20.00
2-Day ticket
£21.00 n/a
Child (9-16 yrs) 1-day
£ 5.00 £5.00
Child (9-16 yrs) 2-day
£ 8.00 n/a
Included in all prices is the Official Programme priced at £5
Anyone interested, can they please mail me with their intented day(s) & send payment (made payable to Club Lancia Sport) to:
L.CLIFT, 47, MOSS SIDE WAY, LEYLAND, PRESTON, LANCS. PR26 7XU.
Thanks.

Is it easier if the SEC just joins in with the CLS for this one?

Is there a reason there isn't a club stand at this event?.

Bob, there might be an SEC stand, I don't know what stage the club is at with the organisers of this event?
This is what Rob said on the 'events' section:

Erm, Well, I am a member of both clubs :o
Not sure what to do unless we have a combined stand.
Any ideas.

I think it'd be a good idea to have ALL of the Lancia's parked together in the 1 area rather than spread around like a "them & us" scenario. I realsie that you (the Strat. boys & girls(?)) would like to be together & I can't see a problem with reserving some spaces for your cars, would look very neat & professional with a row of Stratos then Integrale followed by the Evo then Fulvia & Beta etc. What do you think???

I'm no longer a committee member of the Stratos Enthusiasts Club but am a member of the club as well as the Lancia Motor Club. If you care to erect both banners I'll happily park in the middle!
I assume that it makes sense to group all the Lancia clubs together for a bigger impact?

Guy,
I'm not too sure whether or not the LMC has got a stand at the show. As for having the Stratos club banner on the CLS stand, not too sure how that'd work, would the organisers construe that we've got 2 clubs on the 1 stand??? I'll get back in touch.

Hi Lawrence, thanks.
As above we've got a thread on this in the events section.
Just seams no-one has got involved as much as you guys yet. Phil D (Bernard) and I will be doing the Stage sessions so will be camped out fettling in the paddock both days.
The organisers have got both John H the club Sec (Strat6v) and Ken Tomblin our events organisers - emails and numbers, but I don't know if anythings been orgaised as yet. John can you add anything ?
I've spoken to J-P about this and about other shows where we've worked together in the past and it's worked well.
My two pence..
I can't see why we can't work together, but IMHO you do have to realise we are still our own club and although anyone is free to do what they want, it would be good to be there as the Stratos Enthusiasts Club. Sharing space would be fine in my book, but more along the lines of both clubs working together, not people jumping ship. It's up to you guys, it's your club too.
If any of the SEC members that have said they are going want to help organise our club side of things then please step forward and work with J-P and Lawrence to do something jointly.
I know Ken has enough on his plate with Silverstone and Castle Combe, so any extra help with this one, I'm sure would be welcome.

Thanks Rob. What I meant by "jumping ship" was to get someone to come on here & state that they would like to display their car under the CLS banner. JP's booked the stand with the organisers so I don't know if we've had to pay the organisers anything or not, hence I don't know if it's ethical to have different banners. If nothing's been paid, then why not keep all of the Lancia's patked together as stated in an earlier post. I've had no joy with the lads on Betaboys as yet (I also own a Beta Spyder). I know the event isn't until the end of September, but we could do with getting some bookings in ASAP as it'll soon be here.
On a side note, I've put the backbox back onto the 'Grale as I'm now going a bit deaf, although I can just about hear my wife asking me to slow down. :(

I must admit that I agree, with all 3 of you (Guy, Lawrence and Rob).
Working together, but with seperate, but close together stands would (I think be best all round).
It is tricky as Guy and myself are now in both clubs. I did not think this aspect through all that well tbh :o
I am happy to work with Lawrence and J-P to help organise things from the SEC end - if that helps.
If both club areas are clearly defined, then i think it would be good if me OR Guy (or someone else in either CLS or both clubs) had a Stratos on the CLS stand, but then it could also be good to get a 'Grale or Fulvia HF on our stand - if thats possible.
Maybe that has made things worse - hope not.

If we book a club display area, we need a firm commitment from club members as tickets have to be prepaid with club application form

Looks like it's going to be good. I've just received this latest press release:-
THE RALLY SHOW at CHATSWORTH
Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th September 2007
:: Almost 50 of the 75 entry places now filled;
entries still open.
:: National Rally Champion Paul Bird (Penrith)
confirmed with Stobart Subaru.
:: M-Sport to demonstrate 2007 Ford Focus World
Rally Car.
:: Original Audi quattro S1 to feature in "History of
Rallying".
Almost two-thirds of the competitive entries for the
inaugural Rally Show at Chatsworth have now been
filled, but entries remain open until 7 September.
Paul Bird, the 2005 MSA National Gravel Rally
Champion, will be driving an ex-Petter Solberg
Subaru World Rally Car. His recent outing in the
Stobart-liveried Subaru netted fourth place on the
Total Rally Isle of Man. Bird's rally experience and
outgoing personality should make him a favourite,
not only for overall victory, but also with the
spectators.
While the latest Ford Focus World Rally Car leads
the World Championship, it will not make its
competitive debut in the UK until the first weekend
in December, on Wales Rally GB. However, British
fans will be able to enjoy the awesome
performance of the 2007 car during a number of
demonstrations runs at Chatsworth. Team principal
Malcolm Wilson has not yet disclosed who will be
driving, but it expected to be a headline name.
The "History of Rallying" will feature 25 of the
most famous historic rally cars, ranging from the
Alpine Rally-winning Jaguar XK120 (kindly supplied
by the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust); a Ford
Lotus Cortina to be demonstrated by David and Jill
Sutton; a Nissan 240Z driven by "works" driver
Tony Fall; an ex-Rauno Aaltonen Mini Cooper S
(now owned by Bridgnorth's Peter Barker); an
ex-Carlos Sainz Lancia Delta Integrale and an
original 444bhp Audi quattro S1.
Twenty two drivers have signed up for Stage
Sessions in a variety of interesting cars, including
an MG Metro 6R4, two Porsche 911s,an Audi
quattro and two Hawk HF kit cars (based on the
emotive Lancia Stratos). There are seven
remaining Stage session places.
The event is well supported by car club displays,
with strong interest from rally car clubs - including
Toyota GT4s, Midland Scoobies, Talbot Sunbeam
Lotus, Lancia Stratos Enthusiasts, Lancia
Integrales, Club Alpine Renault, Lexus Owners,
Renault 5 Turbos and Suzuki Swifts - and local
motor clubs - including Lindholme Motor Club,
Clowne & District Motor Club, Matlock Motor Club,
Mid-Derbyshire Motor Club and Sheffield & Hallam
Motor Club. Clubs wishing to display will find
booking details on The Rally Show website.
