How about an area in the forum for listing really useful resources? When David Watson suggested Think Automotive, they proved to be the answer to a couple of problems I'd had for a while. A library page listing such recommendations would be useful. Is it feasible?

Sounds a good idea to me. What does anyone else think?

Cannot believe this hasn't already been done!, Good idea. This web site is all about pooling information and ideas to help fellow members, creating a library of resourses can only be of benefit,;)

Yeah, a cracking idea.

Perhaps it could be divided into sub headings i.e. Electics, Fuel, Bodywork, etc.

Engines could then be further split into Fiat, Alfa, Ferrari.

Would this be too complicated? Perhaps a simply list would suffice?

I guess the list could get pretty large so some form of Search option would be essential.

Ah, the possibilities are endless.

...to also include part#s, prices?

Prices would go out of date after a while.

We don't want to get it too complicated.

But having said that the more information provided the more likely it is that someone will find the information they require when they search.

Regarding searching - there is a search button amongst the butttons on the top right of this page which I believe will suffice for most purposes.

I'll set up a new category for this soon.

I think this would be very useful, list what they do engineers/electricians/parts supplier/etc etc, and who has used/recommended them.

I agree that prices are likely to be out of date pdq but some folk might not have an idea of the cost and get ripped off if they go elsewhere. So some indication is relevant, even if it's an accurate price 'at the time of writing'.

Dave, I didn't intend to overload you with xtra work, but you did ask what people thought...

I also agree that the information should be more that v.basic else it'll be next to useless and a waste of space/time.

Perhaps a simple free format dialogue will suffice? Then, within the site sub heading, include an overview of the suggested details that might be included. There you go Dave=less work.

Recently I have read through every post on this forum since it started and half way through I thought I'd better make a note of all the weblinks and company references, which look so useful, but never got round to going back. I'm all in favour of some form of directory- it would prove most useful to many I'm sure.
