Hawk gear lever

on the hawk center cover there are two options for the gear lever hole, the circular one indicates alfa linkage but selecting neutral the lever is well forward of centre. is this down to needing adjustment or has anybody enlarged the hole forwards

If you're going to cover it with a gaiter, make the hole where and how big you want.
