Dipstick??

What do people do about the dipstick on the Alfa 164 engine in the Hawk kits?

I've looked at the positioning and it seems very tight against the bulkhead - is there a trick way of getting at it or is it just a case of "live with it"?

I don'y know if the Hawk is significantly worse than the Corse I, but on both my engines I gently bent the dipstick tube round so that it pokes out beside the water-pump and above the alternator. Still not nice to get out on a dark night so I tend to rely (too much?) on the electric sensor!
