Unfortunately the car is geared too low on the footage. Not using the appropriate cascade gear set however I do not know the stage configuration. Maybe it made sense to use this gear set...

You know i must be gettin older because i don't comment like i used to for fear of looking like a prat but you've got a point. Further more me old bean -doesn't it sound a bit flat on pick up or is it my ears (must be the altitude)? Don't think the suspension did him any favours either given that turn in but being bitchy really as i'd swop places - tomorrow would'nt we all. He's probably forgotten more about the set-up than i'll ever remember! Well done to him though put the marque on the stage. :)

Yes Tryphon, he may have been using the wrong gears, but he did win the event, so the gears must have been ok overall.

Might he just have been in the wrong gear for that corner? From where I was viewing I couldn't tell if he was in third, second or first..

Just had a nose on U-Tube at the Acropolis footage. All the seventies favourites are on - nice mk1 escort twin cam with a beautiful whine givin it some. The strat was comfortable and sounded nice! :) haven't got the link but lancia stratos, acropolis rally got there.
