In the dutch Alfa 164 register there is someone trying to build in a gas turbine into an Alfa 164. Engine produces 170 HP and ways anly 42 Kg! Just wonder if it drives different from a normal engine

Interesting. Just wish I could understand the conversation.

Pim, am I right in thinking that it runs on paraffin (kerosene)? Was there a reference to diesel fuel in the second post by 164TD?

Hi Peter,

Just been reading the whole story, trying to translate it for you.

Did anyone see the jet ranger turbine in the seven clone at the kit show at stoneleigh? tiny little thing with huge exhaust outlets straight out of the sides. It wasn't a road car so he could get away with it. Some nice engineering touches too. One of the guy's I was with is a retired Rolls Royce aerospace engineer so he was talking the talk with the creator...

Lost me within seconds

I'll stick with up-bang-down instead of roundy-roundy :)

I guess that goes for me too then :o - I did see a reference to 1 April but the first post was earlier.

I did. Great idea and it would give those bike engined car boys a proper taste of rev-envy...but the donor is going to be a bit pricey :D

Have a word with Ian Gear - he works in the helicopter and jet industry and may be able to lay his hands on a 38,000 lb engine from a Tornado if you really want to go this route. :D :D :D
