On the way back from todays wedding, I quickly spotted a red & white (maybe liveried up???) Stratos heading South on M6 just past the Charnock Richard services. Anyone on here??

Mark was on his way to Stoneleigh I guess.
He must have got the Volumex up and running again.

Yup, could have been me, if not Guy. Car is Marlboro - so looks very red and white from the side. I was travelling down from Glasgow, via Newton Stewart. Car went superbly - we did 800miles and never missed a beat! I did find out a few 'sealing problems' when driving in the rain however!

Stoneleigh was brilliant - a really good turn out of our cars - did anyone get a pic of the stand? If so, I'd really like a copy.

Mark,

Nice picture of your car in the 'events' section of the forum under the Stoneleigh thread.
And nice to meet you on the day. Glad you made it. :)

Probably not me then! Joined the M6 at the M56 junction which is WAY South of Charnock Richard services.

I change my plea to Not Guilty M'lud!

I know I'm colour blind, but I'd recognise your car. Probably Marcoos' car.

Yup, could have been me,
If I remember rightly, there was a Caterham type car in front of you???

Yeah, there was a Dutton V8..............and not too far behind in the traffic (normally about 10ft) was my brothers early Alitalia HF3000.

Well spotted by the way...........as we weren't exactly hanging around on the way down!

Thanks Mick, it was a pleasure to meet you and all the other guys. I even managed to say hi to Lionel on the Sunday afternoon which was good. Your car looks avan better in the flesh Mick!

I'm always keeping an eye out on what's coming the other way on the motorway, just in case their's something exotic. You're the 1st Strat. that I've seen though :)

Hi, think i got the right guy, Mark McC? Finally found my old password details for the forum. Sent you an email on the address you gave - hope you got it. Spoke to you before you both left Stoneleigh - what a pair of nice blokes you were and the sound of those Strats leaving finally did it - what a sight. Haven't sat in one for ages and it felt good. My email address is stevepoole@ufoscoot.fsnet.co.uk if your still up for those pics.
All the best Steve.

BTW thanks for all the info on Monday - sorry seemed a bit confused over the heritage of your superb example - bad memory compounded by a head full of Strats. You'll be pleased to note that i've got it as my works screen saver - nice pic of the front end - looks the mutts nuts!

Thanks, Steve

Nice one Steve - I'm honoured!

It was a pleasure to meet you. I'm really sorry we were in a bit of a rush to get away - it's a shame we didn't bump into each other sooner as we would have taken you out in the cars to give you a better idea of what to look forward to!

Stay in touch re your plans - I hope you decide to take the plunge!

I'll check my e-mail and get back to you, as I've been away since I got back (if that makes any sense!) :p

So you should be - it was refreshing to find someone genuinely interested in givin out reasonable advice rather than tryin to sell me a 25K full monty (nice enough bloke though) which would have led to instant divorce! Still would have had a nice strat! Guy did a good job of impressing a trip to Italy which sold it to the wife!
Wasn't sure what you were implying so thats why i sent the mail but the pics would be nice. Just plotting the path for the monies! Will be a couple of months yet but decision has been made.

Hi Tim, sure i've been a dedicated follower for years but alas family had to come first m8 so now it's my turn ha! Been a vintage motor scooter restorer for years and built up a nice collection but now is the time to change and buying another scimitar SE6A got me back into the swing of things - tuning the old ear to the gorgeous sound of a V6! But it was never going to be a strat not even if i took a saw and reshaped it! Why do we passify ourselves with something thats only ever going to reward the next bloke who has it - a strat it aint and thats that! Goin up the loft the weekend to get my strat books out. Head was turned when in Burnham-on-sea and in a nic-nac shop and there was a largish model of a verde stradale that sent me to dreamland. Not looked back since and can't face taking the tub off my scimi to finish the chassis - its got to go m8! :)
