Hi,

Just about to drop the engine in and started wondering if I need to fuse the main 12V supply to the Alfa ECU.

From memory it was straight from a 12V post in the 164, but I don't know if it was fused or if their is a fuse within the ECU.

Can anyone advise please.

Andrew

P.S. Getting close now.. All electrics work. No leaks in brake system, so engine next and then (hopefully) a quick trip around the block!

I will be putting the engine in also this week, is there a way to test start it without the whole Hawk loom installed?

Don't see why not Pimms. Little bit of work required, but assuming you are using the original Motronic loom then you just need raw 12V, a switched 12v to substitute for the igniton feed and a way of dabbing the starter solenoid feed to 12v to crank it over plus engine earth. Assuming(!) that your fuel pump(s) is(are) driven from the Motronic pump relay as per standard, then it should have all it needs to run. Don't worry about the tacho...you'll probably hear it running OK ;)
