Spotted a Thema 8.32 with roll over damage, asking price 1500,00 Euro's
Is that a good price, or could there be a catch
This might be something for the future

Ok as long as its complete. Although it's a v8 with 'lancia by ferrar' on top, it doesn't have the flat plane crankshaft that the ferrari has and if i remember correctly, only has around 200bhp, similar box to the alfa too. Probably cost more to convert it to ferrari spec internals than just buying the ferrari engine. Still nice though and a few been fitted in hawk's and corse's

No doubt somebody will correct me but i think that although they were badged Lancia by Ferrari, they were actually made by Ducati?

Personally, I'd buy a GTA engine for that sort of cash, plenty of tuning parts available also.

Youre probably right John, just got a bit carried away by the sound of the engine in another thread. :o

the engine was designed by ferrari and I believe series 2 engines were built in the Ducati factory, there are almost no common parts with the 308 quattrovalve engine upon which it is based, therefore its more exclusive ;-)
it does not have a flat crank, but has about 220 BHP in standard guise, but without the air con and stuff hanging off it I suspect more in the strat.

it does fit in a hawk with some fettling and it does go like stink and sounds right.

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/127345.htm for some photos.

this not a shameless attempt at promoting the ad, coz Ive decided not to sell anyway!!

although Coys are trying to get me to put it in one of their auctions at Brands Hatch.

cheers

That's a nice touch turning the "Lancia by Ferrari" thing round on the intake Dan.

Don't get me wrong, i think that v8 is lovely and the sound from the youtube vid was awesome  Just worry about the parts supply though, otherwise i may have invested earlier in the cars life.

At the end of the day i'm happy with what i've got and it will probably scare me s---less! :D
