On the Alfa 3 ltr 12V there are four different sender units. Can anyone tell me what they are for?

Picture 1: Next to the dipstick is an oil pressure sender ? It has 2 connections, one for the warning lamp and one for the gauge?

Picture 2: On top of the engine, near the gear box are 2 sender units, the left one looks like a temperature switch  , the left looks also like an oil pressure switch

Picture 3: Two temperature switches on the thermostad housing, the left for the injection ( cold start? ) the right one for the temp. gauge and warning lamp?

Picture 3: the blue connector is to the Bosch Motronic unit for cold start and all other ECU engine coolant temperature monitoring. The other black connector with two connections connector is as you have said. The set screw also visible should have a ground wire attached.

Can't help on the others for the 12V engine, sorry!

Picture 1 - the sender is for an oil level warning light or gauge on the 164 dash. We don't use it except to block the hole removing it would leave....

Picture 2 - The sender between the cylinder heads is the oil pressure gauge sender and the sender on the side of the front head is the low pressure warning light switch. The switch closes when there is pressure which doesn't match Gerrys loom! The result is that when you turn on the ignition there is no warning light showing on the gauge but when the engine starts the light comes on.... If the pressure gauge sender is faulty (very common) you think the engine has no pressure and panic ensues! The warning light sender needs to be changed to one that earths out with no pressure.

Picture 3 - Peter has answered that already!

First one is an oil level sender.

second one in the 'v' is the oil pressure sender for the guage

Third (blue) is the water temp sender for the ecu and the one next to it is the water temp sender for the guage. Not sure on the two connections though? One goes to the temp guage and the other could be an earth OR perhaps a temp warning light. seem to recall this being in another thread with the answer provided by David May.
