As some of you may be aware (and thanks to all those who have helped so far!) my Corse has been "Marlboro'd".

I have one graphic where I'm not sure what to get, and where to get it! It's the 'rally event' sticker that goes on the side doors in the top half of the circle, and on the front end. Can anyone tell me what it should say, and does anyone have a template or a good image I could hand to my vinyl-man?

I've up-loaded a pic of the one that I think might be right (XXV Tour De Corse????)

I would think it would be something a bit like this 73 one I have in my T-D-C pics if this rally plaque is what you meant :)
cheers

And because you said very nice things about joining the club...........

I think it reads ASSOCIATION SPORTIVE AUTOMOBILE around the outside. :)

Brilliant guys, thanks very much.

I'm emailing the vinyl man tonight to see what he can do!

As far as a Marlboro liveried car goes, what would be the right plate exactly? I've been trawling pics on the net and there seem to be a few diferent versions?

One of our members has kindly offered to send me a graphic of a plate, so I would like to get it right for the rally and the year. I'm short on books etc on the Stratos, so I don't really have anything to refer to............

Thanks Chris,

I had toured a few model sites, but that was one I had obviously missed. The look I am after is the one shown in the pic attached, 1974 Tour de France. I guess this makes life easier as it means a square 'number plate' with the Grundig logo. Pic attached (although I never seem to have much luck with the pics!)

Here's my car as it currently stands, after paining etc. It's not exact in many ways, but for what I want right now it's OK. It started life as a red Stradale, so what I have done so far is to do the white over the red where possible. I've kept the tail spoiler, roof spoiler and rear louvre black as I think it looks better and I didn't want to try and match the existing red (it never looks right, and would end up in a full re-spray). Must admit I'm please with the results in the short term and for the money. Parts cost me £250, paint cost me £250, Graphics so far £90, wheels I did myself. This will do for the summer........I have a newly rebuilt V6 24V Cloverleaf which might be going in over the winter with some Gp4 arches perhaps............hence the reason I didn't want to do full paint job yet.

Went to take the car for a blast late last night and surprise surprise....the ECU has gone again!!! It's only just back from Emerald. I think this weekend will see fuel injection coming off and good old webber going back on. I need the car ready for Stoneleigh and time is running out for such major mods. I thought modern day electronics were meant to be reliable!!!!

Here's a picture of a tour the France car with nr 111, but its the 1973 Tour de FRance . I have a better resolution at home, could send it to you if i have youre e-mail?
Can't r4ead the top line though, the second line says "TOUR", the third line "DE FRANCE" and the fourth line "AUTOMOBILE". Right lower corner says "1973"

Nice looking car by the way! :)

It looks realy nice Mark, bit bothered about your Emerald though. I am just about to install a new K3 for my 12V Alfa.

Cheers

Looking good Mark, Shame about the ECU, how are you finding the service from them?

hmmmmm................Emerald. I had real problems communicating with the unit via the laptop to mess around with the maps etc. The unit developed a fault for no apparent reason. I sent it back and they said 'water damage', but I find it highly unlikely as it's tucked away inside the car. Anyway, they said it was fixed (they had it for 4wks) and sent it back. I still couldn't communicate with it, but it was running not too badly so I did about 100miles and exactly the same fault appeared. Car just won't run and the unit doesn't switch off my petrol pump prior to starting (safety feature).

I've given up with it now and sent it back this morning. I'm sure it won't be back in time for Stoneleigh, and I have very little confidence in it for the drive down from Glasgow. Plan B is now in action. Removed fule injection, sidedraft Webber at Guy Croft, along with my inlet cam and cam-box to get properely jetted. He's promised to get it back to me by the end of the week, giving me just enough time to get it back together and find the rest of the bits I need to put it back to standard ignition. I have a distributor so far........
